Devil's Third is an upcoming third-person shooter video game by Tomonobu Itagaki's Valhalla Game Studios developed for the PlayStation 3,Xbox 360, Microsoft Windows, and tablets.

Devil's Third is third-person shooter, combined with melee fighting gameplay, featuring online play. The game's backstory is based on the Kessler syndrome theory.

Debris from artificial satellites in orbit has created a cascading effect of collisions, leading to the destruction of nearly all satellites, both civilian and military. In the resulting turmoil, war erupts around the world as the balance of military power is thrown into chaos. Infantry battle is altered in a world without satellite technology.

It can be seen from concept art that the game will be taking place around the world with Asian, European and American locations.

This is the first game developed by Tomonobu Itagaki after leaving Tecmo in 2008 and forming his own game studio, Valhalla Game Studios, with other members of Team Ninja who left Tecmo in 2009. This is also the first game Tomonobu Itagaki is developing for the PlayStation 3 and PC. The game is a departure from Itagaki's previous genres, hack and slash and fighting games, as this game is a third-person shooter.

Devil's Third switched engines during its development, as the company responsible for making its original engine went out of business. Since that time, Valhalla Game Studios have continued development using an adaptation of video game developer Relic Entertainment's engine. Although a version of Devil's Third for the Wii U has not been confirmed, Itagaki reports that the game would run perfectly fine on the system. Devil's Third uses the same game engine as Darksiders 2.

Originally, the game was to be published by THQ. The intellectual property rights were given back to Valhalla Game Studios.

Valhalla Game Studios plans to expand the Devil's Third universe across a variety of digital devices and through various forms of entertainment.

Smite (stylized as SMITE) is a third person multiplayer online battle arena video game developed and published by Hi-Rez Studios for Microsoft Windows. In Smite, players take on the visage of a mythological god and take part in arena combat, using powers and team tactics against other player-controlled gods and non-player controlled minions.

Players are formed into two teams, with five players to each team. All players begin at opposing sides of a map in the Spawning Pool. There are three continuous 'lanes' running from one side of the map to the other. Each lane is defended by a 'Phoenix' which is accompanied by a pair of extra defensive towers. Phoenixes and towers deal a large amount of damage to any enemies that come too close. The players are also accompanied by 'minions', these minions spawn at the Phoenixes every thirty seconds and run along their lane until they meet opposition and attack immediately. Minions will not only attack players and other minions but towers, Phoenixes and the Minotaur. Defensive positions will prioritize enemy minions over players, allowing players to attack a turret without receiving damage. Once nearby minions die or an opponent arrives to defend the tower, the tower will re-agro to the enemy player. If a game is going badly for a certain team then they can decide to surrender, though this requires a majority of the team to agree.

Players have to choose a God to play, this is akin to champions in League of Legends or heroes in Heroes of Newerth and DotA. Currently players can choose between 36 Gods from six different pantheons, Chinese, Egyptian, Greek, Hindu, Roman, Mayan and Norse mythology. Two players on the same team cannot choose the same God, although they are free to choose Gods from the same mythology. The player controls their god in a third person perspective, which is a unique characteristic of this multiplayer online battle arena game, as other games of this genre are typically played from a top-down perspective. Each god has a basic attack and four spells with varying effects, such as area of effect damage, crowd control, buffs and many more. These spells are acquired and upgraded when a player's God levels up by gaining experience from being in range of creeps when they are killed, taking down towers or phoenixes and killing enemy players. The maximum level is 20 and each successive level is harder to reach. Gold, which is used to buy equipment that increase power, defence and passive effects, potions, wards and abilities, is accumulated through standard periodic income, by gaining experience, or by selling owned items.

There are six main game types: conquest, practice, joust, arena, domination and assault. Conquest is solely based on the general gameplay and within conquest there are several other modes, the first of which is novice. Novice mode is for new players to get a feeling for the game and to understand the basics of the game. Once the player hits level six they will no longer be able to join novice mode and will have to matchmake using the normal mode. Normal mode is similar to novice but is for more experienced players. Currently, arranged teams are limited to three players total in normal matchmaking. The match manager will try to give the opposing team better solo players if there are teamed players together on a side. Five man teams only is another mode, as the name suggests you can only enter this mode once you have a team of five, this mode is more of a challenge than the others because teams will usually have some sort Voice over IP software such as TeamSpeak. There is also ranked conquest mode.

Another game mode is solo practice mode, in this mode there is only one lane and you go up against an NPC god, here a player can learn a new god and hone their skills. Joust uses the same map and rules as practise, where a pair of players can engage in a one-versus-one duel.

Arena is played 5 versus 5 with minions and side-objectives including buff camps and Gryphon Guardians. But rather than a single end objective, in Arena your team earns points for killing enemy players and minions with the first team to deduct 500 points from their opponents being crowned the winner.

Lost Planet 3 is an upcoming third-person shooter video game developed by Spark Unlimited and published by Capcom for the PlayStation 3,Microsoft Windows and Xbox 360. The game is the prequel to Lost Planet: Extreme Condition and Lost Planet 2 takes place on the same planet of E.D.N. III albeit before the events of the first two games. The game will take a more story-driven narrative approach to the campaign similar to the first game. Unlike previous games in the series, which were developed internally by Capcom, the game will be developed externally by Spark Unlimited with Matt Sophos serving as game director, though series creator, Kenji Oguro, is still attached as franchise creative director.

 

The game takes place long before the events of the first game, and hence the planet of E.D.N. III is still in an ice-age like environment rather than the tropical environment of the second game that occurs after the events of the first game. It takes place during the time of the first few human colonists on E.D.N. III sent there by the Neo-Venus Construction company or NEVEC, who later become the main antagonists for the series. The game follows the story of Jim Peyton, a colonist who is working for NEVEC and helping mine the planet and sending minerals back to Earth, where his family awaits him.

The game, however, doesn't feature militarized VS bipedal mechs like previous entries in the series, and instead features mechs called Rigs that are the predecessors of VS mechs, given the timeline of the game. Unlike VS mechs, Rigs aren't militarized with weapons and instead are equipped with drill arms and claw arms for mining.

 

In the first game, NEVEC had become a dictatorial force on E.D.N. III having defeated the Akrid and only being left with defeating the Snow Pirates who were rebelling against their governance. However, in the game NEVEC has not yet become an antagonist and instead is helping make the planet habitable to humans by constructing thermal posts on the planet to combat the harsh icy weather conditions. Though as the story progresses Jim begins to unravel the dark secrets of NEVEC. The Akrid, an enemy that has been present through the entire series, is suggested to be one of the enemy types faced by the main character. This was shown in a leaked trailer for the game.

 

The game's gameplay will be more similar to the first game with a story-driven adventure rather than the second game which replaced the story-driven narrative with a simple co-op and grind-heavy campaign. Using the game's mission-based mechanics, players can choose to take on core quests that progress the story, or side-quests to help out fellow colonists on the planet. The game will allow players to openly explore areas in a style similar to role-playing games with the ability to talk to non-player characters, obtain side-quests, upgrade equipment and build their own bipedal rigs using items gathered throughout the campaign.
